visit SCAD

SCAD has excellent facilities for western visitors on the main campus at Cheranmahadevi and at KVK (the farm and science and veterinary centre) and they welcome visitors who want to see the work that they do. From experience gained over the years we have found it best for visitors to stay at SCAD for up tp 6 days as part of a longer holiday in India. During that time Charles, the senior SCAD manager with responsibility for visitors, will organise a programme for each guest. This programme will include a number of field trips, briefing and information sessions. There will also be time for a litle local sightseeing as well as opportunities to spend time in the various schools and colleges on the campus if desired.

A smaller number of visitors with particular interests, and who want to make a contribution to SCAD's work, may want to spend up to a month with SCAD. In these cases it will be necessary to establish clear and agreed objectives so that the visit can be rewarding to both the volunteer and SCAD.

Potential visitors should first contact Murray Frankland on 0116 2766439 to discuss their proposed visit. He will then liase between them and SCAD.
