Tree planting

You can plant a tree for just 80p through this imaginative and environmentally friendly scheme. SCAD grow the saplings in their regional nurseries and train villagers and groups to take care of them. A wide variety of indigenous trees are grown most of which will be income generating in some way. The planting of trees in and around the villages also helps soil fertility, water retention, supplies shade and reduces local temperatures. There is also evidence that they increase the chance of local rainfail.

You can also give trees as a gift to friends and family by way of a certificate. You tell us how much you wish to spend (minimum £10) and on what occasion. We will then send you a beautifully designed and printed colour tree certificate for you to send to the person concerned. If you would like to receive a copy of the annual tree planting newsletter please let us know and give us your email address.
